The
Horticulture Centre of the Pacific
Includes The Pacific Horticulture College and is located in the Municipality
of Saanich on southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The
organization manages 103 acres to demonstrate sound gardening practices
using the diversity of plants that can be grown in this area, and provides
a unique environment for preparing students for careers in horticulture.

Government
House Gardens
Lovingly
restored and maintained through public and corporate funding and help,
these magnificent gardens are a treat to behold. Includes themed areas
such as a rock and alpine garden, a sunken rose garden, a winter garden
and an English country garden!
The
Gardens at Point Ellis House
This is a beautiful, restored garden and turn of the century house. Lots
of information on their research resources - archival photographs, 19th
century seed catalogues, Victorian gardening tools, heirloom roses and
some amazing discoveries during garden restoration.
Hatley
Park National Historic Site
Located 25 minutes from downtown Victoria, the 1908 Hatley Castle sits
prominently in the centre of a 229-hectare Edwardian estate, adjacent
to the Italian, Japanese and rose gardens.
The
Abkhazi Garden
An exquisite heritage home and garden located in Victoria, British Columbia,
a city known for its wonderful gardens. Prince and Princess Abkhazi began
creating their garden in 1946. This once private garden is now open to
the public. Please visit us and experience this special place for yourself.
Finnerty
Gardens at University of Victoria
The garden contains more than 500 different rhododendron species and hybrids,
1,600 trees and shrubs and a spectacular range of companion plants – including
ferns, vines, bulbs, groundcovers, water plants and ornamentals – artistically
displayed on a 2.6 hectare (6.5 acre) site at the southwest corner of
UVic’s campus.

Beacon
Hill Park
A crown jewel in Downtown Victoria, this park is beautifully landscaped
and manicured with bridges, lakes and ponds, and an alpine and rock garden.
It is home to numerous species of ducks, birds and wildlife. The park
also boasts wondrous displays of exotic and native trees, including Garry
Oak, Arbutus, Douglas-fir, Western Red Cedar, birch, willow and maples
- to name just a few.
Mount
Douglas Park
Trails lead you to the summit elevation of 213m. This 360º lookout is
spectacular, with views of rural Saanich, the city lights of Victoria,
and further, the Olympic and Cascade mountains in Washington State.
Goldstream
Provincial Park
Goldstream's
numerous trails criss-cross through the dramatically different terrain
of two distinct vegetation zones. The park is home to 600-year-old Douglas
fir trees and western red cedar, mixed with western yew and hemlock, red
alder, big leaf maple and black cottonwood. Located just 16 km from downtown
Victoria.
Sooke
Potholes Provincial Park
Sooke Potholes Provincial Park provides access to the series of deep,
polished rock pools and potholes carved naturally into the sandstone bedrock
of the Sooke River. This area is a favourite day-use destination for many
local and regional residents.
Witty's
Lagoon Regional Park
Witty's Lagoon is a birder's paradise -over 160 species have been documented
in the park. Enjoy the forested trails and views of Sitting Lady Falls
plunging into the lagoon below. Picnic at one of three picnic areas, or
at the expansive sandy beach.
Elk/Beaver
Lake
The
lake is used cooperatively by swimmers, windsurfers, sailors, water-skiers,
fishers and rowers. Some park trails are designated multi-use, for hikers,
cyclists and horse riders, while others are for hiking only.
East
Sooke Regional Park
West Coast wilderness awaits you at East Sooke Regional Park. Has 50 kilometres
of trails through forest, marsh and field. The 10-kilometre Coast Trail
starts here with pocket beaches, rocky bays and tide pools for exploring
and scuba diving. Spectacular views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and
Olympic Mountains.

in Oak Bay
Oak Bay is one of the older parts of Victoria with many beautiful parks
and gardens to it's credit. Discover a very old historic cemetary, a turn
of the century observatory and miles of seaside walkways and picnic areas.
Mt.
Tolmie Park
Panoramic views of Saanich and Victoria across to the Olympic Mountain
Range and to Mt. Baker in the Cascades will entice you to hike to the
120m. elevation of the summit.
